One young baker and his neighborhood boulangerie in a sleepy stretch of northeastern Paris received some life-changing news yesterday: their baguette had been selected — over more than 100 others— as the best in the city.
30-year old baker Tharshan Selvarajah, who helms the “Au Levain des Pyrénées” bakery in a part of the city that most visitors never set foot in, reportedly said he wept when he heard the news (watch a moving video here).
